To celebrate the launch of its three showrooms in Mumbai, Kalyan Jewellers hosted a grand soirée at a city hotel. Brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the celebration marked with musical performance by Pankaj Uddhas. The former Miss World and actor also inaugurated Kalyan Jewellers’ new stores in Vashi and Thane, while Amitabh Bachchan inaugurated their sprawling store in Borivali.
The 4th Asia Cup Polo hosted by the Gitanjali group at the Mahalaxmi racecourse in Mumbai embodied the sport’s beauty, spirit and excellence and was graced by members of royal families, socialites and celebrities. The International Polo team emerged the winners in the match against the amateur Rider’s Club and was presented with a trophy by Mehul Choksi, CMD, Gitanjali group and Celina Jaitley, Bollywood diva and brand ambassador of Diya Diamonds. In addition to the Polo match, guests were treated to a fashion show by Nachiket Barve. Models sashayed down the runway in glittering jewellery from Envi, Nizam and True Platinum. Maharaj Narendra Singh of Jaipur, Tara Sharma, Sophia Hayat, Queenie Dhody, Nisha Jamvwal and International polo players Johnny Lynn, Leroux Henry and Abhimanyu Pathak were spotted at the do.
Gemfields, the world’s leading coloured gemstone producer, unveiled a set of unique fine jewellery creations produced in collaboration with 36 leading international designers at the Hotel Vivanta by Taj in Mumbai. Gemfields’ director of global marketing and PR, Anna Haber, and chief executive officer, Ian Harbottle, unveiled the pieces that have been crafted using ethically sourced emeralds, rubies and amethysts from Gemfields. Indian stalwarts like Bina Goenka, Farah Khan and couture jewellery houses like Amrapali and the Gem Palace feature in the list of designers that showcased their talent. One of the world’s finest heritage jewellers, C. Krishniah Chetty and sons hosted jewellery cum fashion show at their flagship store, touchstone in Bangalore. The innovative event captured the essence of the custom design jewellery festival being held at all their stores and showcased the journey of a piece of jewellery from a simple sketch to its actualised form. Ankitha Naik, Miss South India 2013 runner-up, the showstopper for the evening walked down the ramp wearing the most breathtaking jadau necklace and a haath-phool that drew gasps from the audience.
Balram Garg, managing director, PC Jeweller Ltd, inaugurated PCJ’s first showroom in Jabalpur on the auspicious occasion of navratas. The inauguration of the showroom marks the opening of PCJ’s third showroom in Madhya Pradesh, after Bhopal and Indore. Former Femina Miss India World and Bollywood actor, Sayali Bhagat unveiled Popley & Sons’ latest collection of temple jewellery on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa. The collection, distinctively designed for the Indian retail market offers a wide range of necklaces, earrings and kadas for the festive occasion. Earlier in the month, Popley Jewellers unveiled their latest collection of platinum jewellery for the season with young Bollywood actors, Aditi Rao Hydari and Amit Sadh. Acclaimed jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali celebrated 20 eventful years of her signature label Farah Khan Fine Jewellery which coincided with the launch of her new jewellery store at Turner Road in Bandra. The celebrations held at the new store on Gudi Padwa were a star-studded affair with a mix of Bollywood, fashionistas and corporate czars.
